Saudi VAT control for F&B: the finance questions behind the 15% rate

How restaurant finance teams should think about VAT coding, settlements, supplier evidence and reconciliations in Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia applies a standard VAT rate of 15% where applicable. For an operator, the rate itself is the easy part; the control challenge is whether taxable sales, discounts, delivery channels, supplier invoices, credit notes and VAT accounts reconcile consistently.

A useful monthly VAT control pack should connect source systems to the ledger, explain material exceptions and preserve evidence for the treatment applied. Complex or uncertain tax positions should be reviewed by an appropriately qualified Saudi tax specialist.
